Copan Horn Ancient Artifact $3,750.00
Artifacts; Archaeology; Collectible; Horn, whistle or musical piece of very hard and durable material from the COPAN Ruins located in northwest Honduras CA. Copan is the most southern of Maya cities in the Classic Period (AD 250-900). This artifact has a somewhat hollow center and on the rear has several holes from which various sounds can be made by blowing through the center hole of the mouthpiece. The other two holes would indicate they could be used for creating a variety of sounds by placing and removing one's fingers thereon. The Front has a hand carved face / image of a Maya mother cradling her child (carved facial image) in her arms while in a seemly sitting position. This Artifact measures approximately 4 X 4 X 2.
